Okay, before I start giving daily updates, I have to catch everybody up on how we got here.

Let’s start with the morning of surgery.

I’m up, dressed, ready to go, and yelling for Avery. Now, Avery came home for the weekend supposedly to assist his mother after surgery. Personally, I think this had more to do with getting Ace acclimated… but we’re gonna go with the “I came home to help my mama” story. 😂

So here I am, FULLY DRESSED and ready to leave.

Where is Avery?

KNOCKED OUT. SLEEP. 😴

Now apparently the bass in my voice changed somewhere between the first and last time I called his name, because suddenly I hear:

“I’M WAITING ON YOU!”

Sir.

Please explain to me how YOU are waiting on ME when I’m dressed and ready, and YOU are still laying down?!

But again… we gonna go with the story. 😂

He finally gets up, takes Ace outside and starts the car.

Of course, Ace sees everybody moving around this early in the morning and immediately thinks, Oh, we going somewhere! 🐶😂

Sorry, buddy. Not this trip.

I come outside with my boot in hand because they told me I had to bring it with me, and off we go.

Now, I’m honestly not sure what was worse, the ride there or the interrogation DURING the ride.

Wait a minute…

I’m the mother, right?! 🤔😂

Why am I being questioned like I’m a suspect on the way to surgery?!

Eventually, we pull up at the Bone & Joint Institute. Avery pulls over and says:

“I’ll wait right here for Dezi.”

THANK GOD Dezi was meeting us there! 🙌🏽

Because if this dude had to go inside with me after questioning me the entire ride, my blood pressure would’ve been through the roof before they even checked me in! 😂😂😂

And y’all…

We haven’t even made it through the front door yet.

To be continued… 👣❤️
